This month's notes
The Clermont County Historical Society office, archives and museum will be open to the public Saturday August 6 from 1-4pm. The Williamsburg Historical Society (Harmony Hill) museum, located in the same building, will be open at the same time. The building is located at 299 Third Street, Williamsburg, turn left and follow the gravel Road.
CLERMONT COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY AUGUST MEETING
Will be held on Friday August 19, at 7:30 pm in room McDonough 105, Clermont College, 4200 Clermont College Drive, Batavia. From the rear parking lot, enter the building at the entrance beneath the greenhouse and walk to the end of the hallway. Our featured speaker will be George West. President of Grassy Run Historical Arts Committee. He will speak on the "Grassy Run Battle." The battle was the largest ever held in Clermont County. The Indians were lead by the Shawnee warrior Tecumseh and the frontiersmen by Simon Kenton. The meeting is free and open to the public
Each year the Clermont Historical Society has a County History Display that rotates among the Clermont County Libraries. The display this year features "The Construction of the new Stonelick Covered Bridge" During the month of August the display will be at the Amelia Library. The display can be viewed during the regular hours of the library.
CLERMONT COUNTY HISTORY DISPLAY
The Clermont County Collaborative of Historical Organizations and the Clermont County Commissioners have a joint project on Clermont County History. The Commissioners have installed a display case in the lobby of the Administration Building, 101 E. Main Street, Batavia. Each month a different Clermont County historical organization has a display on county history. During the month of August. The Bethel Historical Society will have a display. The display is available for viewing during the regular hours of the Administration building. Stop by and see it.
