This book is an illustrated anthology of Batavia. It contains 29 chapters. Eleven of the chapters were written by Rosanna Hoberg and appeared as a Batavia History for the village's sesquicentennial in 1964. Six other authors contributed chapters: Peter A. Barnes, Richard Crawford, Ron Hill, Katy Kleinwachter, Cindy Johnson, and James B. Swing. The book is illustrated with many rare old photographs.

The Cincinnati, Georgetown & Portsmouth Railroad was organized in 1873 and operated until 1934. It ran from Carrel St. in Cincinnati to Georgetown, Ohio. There were branches to Coney Island, Cincinnati Waterworks, Batavia, Felicity and Russellville. This 564 page book is a comprehensive history of the railroad and includes:
