Note that in 1795, Hamilton County included what became Clermont and part of Brown County. This may be for Kain's inn and tavern either in Newtown or Williamsburg.

Territory of the United Stated Northwest of the Ohio River. Hamilton County

By Aaron Cadwell Esquire one of the commissioners appointed for granting License in the said county.

License and permission is hereby granted to James Kain of Anderson Township to retail liquors and content spirits at his dwelling house in said county for and during the term of on full year from the date hereof and no longer conformable to that now and on which may hereafter be adopted.

Witness my hand and seal at Cincinnati in the County aforesaid this third day of February in the year of our lord one thousand and seven hundred and ninety five
